Artistic Vision:
Out on a Limb Dance Company queries and
challenges conceptual and technical ideas about
dance-making. To this end, the dance company is a model of
collaborating artists who work together to develop
original, emerging dance languages that explore ideas about
the nature of human experience.
Goals:
Out on a Limb Dance Company
nourishes and cultivates choreographic subjects that heed
human experience and interactions. As we minister this way
of working, our ambitions are to connect with audiences, in
an intimate and self-actualizing way, that offers an
opportunity for both dancers and viewers, to find some
moment, glimpse, or prospect of commonality, as it relates
to human emotion.
Out on a Limb Dance Company also uses the art of
dance as an agent for change. Our artistic objectives are
not always meant to bring instantaneous positive feelings;
rather the experience will promote a point of discussion
and reflection in order for both factions to shift to a new
positive understanding or direction.
Not only will Out on a Limb, as a community,
embrace former dance traditions, but it will also explore
new artistic ideas, and challenge old ones.
Out on a Limb Dance Company is committed to
providing high school and college students, and other dance
artists with multiple experiences in dance moving and
making.

develops our artistic impulses as we collaborate and make
sense of our emerging dance’s world.
